Unite with stargazers across the globe for an evening of lunar wonder and cosmic connection! Join astronomers, neighbors, and new friends under the stars for storytelling, science demos, hands-on crafts, a cozy campfire, and—of course—moon gazing. Peer through telescopes and binoculars to explore the Moon’s majestic terrain: jagged mountains, sweeping valleys, crater chains, and the poetic plains of the Sea of Cold, Sea of Crises, and Sea of Tranquility.

Whether you're a seasoned space nerd or just moon-curious, come revel in our radiant companion with fellow Earthlings from every corner of the planet.

And in the words of Gru from Despicable Me, who once stole the Moon:

“We are going to steal..... pause for effect....the MOON!”

Well, not tonight—but you can borrow it for a few magical hours!

Difficulty: Easy terrain, perfect for all ages.

Location: Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area –CREEC Unit. We’ll meet at the end of the gravel parking area.

Facilities: none

What to Bring / Wear:

• Closed-toe shoes (required)
• Long pants and weather-appropriate layers
• Refillable water bottle
• Bug spray and sunscreen
