We’re taking birdwatching to the water, and you’re invited -- Join us for a Birding Paddle from Johnson Ferry North to Powers Island on Friday, June 12th!
- Date: Friday, June 12th
- Time: 9:00 AM (total float time varies depending on river flow rate and how much we paddle)
- Location: Meetup location will be provided to attendees via email
This paddle is beginner-friendly from both a birding and paddling perspective, with a fairly gentle stretch of river — perfect if you’re newer to either (or both)!
We’ll be on the lookout for a heronry, kingfishers, and plenty of other birds and wildlife along the way. We’re also excited to have a partner from Birds Georgia with us to share insight and help with IDs, so you can learn a thing or two as we go. As always, our friends at Nantahala Outdoor Center will be leading the paddle, so you’ll be in good hands when it comes to safety and navigating the river.
Spots are limited, and we’d love to see you out there!
