Island Ford Unit
Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area
Join Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy for a rewarding volunteer workday with YOUR OpenText team! We will be working at the Hewlett Field located at Island Ford one of 15 lands units of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. We will be focusing on spray painting PFDs (lifejackets) with 'NPS' on the back of each PFD. Each year CNPC funds over 400 lifejackets to be utilized by NPS park users during the summer. Park users can borrow PFDs to use during their river trips and return them back to bins at various park units. Labeling the PFDs help to reduce the amount that are lost each year. Tasks will include sorting and spray painting PFDs for the upcoming summer recreation season. Please meet in front of the visitor center when you arrive to ensure you are guided to the correct project location.
