NPS Led Community Night Program: Frog Frolics!

Young and young at heart start the evening in the shallows at the spillway looking for tadpoles and froglets and then roast marshmallows around the campfire and listen to the growing chorus of frogs. Finally discover nature after the sun sets on a leisurely guided nighttime walk searching the shores of Sibley Pond for frogs and whatever other nocturnal creatures might be out and about. Enjoy the evening and the cricket chorus as you experience your National Park at night. The evening’s activities are very casual and informal. You are welcome to come early and bring a picnic. Multiple DATES:May 2May 9Where to meet?From the bulletin board at the parking area follow the trail straight about .2 miles to the pond. We will meet at the campfire near the pond. Facilities: NoneDifficulty: A very leisurely stroll to and around the pond.Bring: Please remember to wear comfortable outdoor clothes.Water High energy snacks if you'd like.A flashlight will help you see any evening critters. A light jacket is advisable. A $5 daily parking pass or annual pass is required at all Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area park units.
