Join Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy for a rewarding volunteer workday with YOUR High Country team! Your team will be starting their day by hitting the trails for a run from 8:00 -9:00 AM. We will beginning working at 9:00 AM located at the same unit - Gold Branch, one of 15 lands units of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. We will be focusing on trail restoration work. Tasks will include closing social trails, cutting dead roots from the trail path, and clearing litter of the trail path. Please remember to wear sturdy, weather-appropriate clothing as we come together to enhance our surroundings.
Volunteer Activity:
Volunteers will assist with trail upkeep + restoration and/or land based trash cleanup, which may include removing debris, pruning overgrowth, smoothing trail surfaces, enhancing the safety and accessibility of popular hiking paths and cleaning litter along riverbanks and trails.
What We’ll Provide:
- Gloves
- Tools for trail work (rakes, loppers, etc., limited supply)
- Trash bags, trash grabbers (for light litter cleanup)
What to Bring / Wear:
- Closed-toe shoes (required)
- Long pants and weather-appropriate layers
- Refillable water bottle
- Bug spray and sunscreen
A $5 daily parking pass or annual pass is required at all Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area park units. You can purchase a day pass at the trailhead or online: https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm
