Description: Our February hike will be a little different than our traditional hikes as we will start at a Gwinnett County Park and walk to a CRNRA unit. The hike starts at Settles Bridge Park in Gwinnett County. The trail goes through the forest to the Chattahoochee River. From there we will walk to the CRNRA Settles Bridge unit. We will walk the gravel road back to the parking area and pick up trash along the way, as needed. The easy hike is a little less than 4 miles on sidewalks and flat forest trails, with an uphill walk along the gravel road.
Location: Settles Bridge Park, Gwinnett County 380 Johnson Road, Suwanee GA 30024
Facilities: There are restrooms at the Settles Bridge Park but not at the NPS Settles Bridge unit
Difficulty: The easy hike is a little less than 4 miles on sidewalks and flat forest trails, with an uphill walk along the gravel road. Ages 10 and up. Please NO dogs.
Bring: Please bring WATER. Remember to dress for the weather and wear very comfortable hiking shoes. Dress in layers so that you can adjust to changes in the temperature and your activity level. A hat, scarf, and gloves might be a good idea. You may wish to bring binoculars, hand lens, notebook, and camera. Note: A daily entrance fee or annual pass is required.
