Join the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy for our June Community Hike

 

SATURDAY, June 24

 8 AM - 12 PM

Powers Island and Cochran Shoals Units of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA)      

Our 5-mile hike starts at the Powers Island parking lot. We will walk across the bridge to the Cochran Shoals - Interstate North Unit. The hike will take us from the flat path into the Interstate North hills, where we will walk to the Cochran Shoals bike path. The hike continues on the non-bike hiking trails into the hills of Columns Drive to the historic Scribner Cemetery. The hike back will follow the path next to the Chattahoochee River. This is a moderate hike with some portions on the bike paths. Hiking poles might be helpful for some hikers. Meet at the Powers Island parking lot 5450 Interstate North Parkway Sandy Springs, GA 30328 33°54'10.42"N,84°26'28.3"W

Restrooms are available at Powers Island, Interstate North, and Columns Drive parking lots.

There is a $5.00 per day fee to park at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Or use your annual CRNRA pass or an America the Beautiful pass. Purchase a pass here. https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm This event will take place rain or shine, however it will be rescheduled in the event of severe weather including thunderstorms or flood warnings. Participants will be notified by email the morning of the event (or sooner) should an event need to be rescheduled due to weather.
