Park Trees - Oct 21 (2-5 PM) with Kathryn Kolb
NOTE: This event is SOLD OUT!
Learn to identify our native trees by leaf, bark, fruit and seed, with EcoAddendum Director Kathryn Kolb. (http://www.ecoaddendum.org/ https://www.facebook.com/EcoAddendum/). Georgia has the highest temperate forest tree diversity in the US. As we walk, we'll focus on the diversity of Piedmont tree species, from the oaks and hickories that prefer higher ridges, to trees that are happiest along river corridors and floodplains. Kathryn will reveal how to "read" the history of the forest by looking at the species and growth patterns of the forest’s trees. Moderate 2-3 mile walk in the West Palisades / Akers Mill Unit. Registration required. Limit: 15
